First, let me say thanks for all of your advice regarding families and holidays. I think we have it figured out for this year, and we will get to spend time with everyone without it being stressful.
Now, onto the miracle. Hubby asked me to run the mower out of gas tonight so it would be ready for the winter since it seems the colder weather might start sticking around. I didn't really think there was much gas left in there, and I was trying to rush home to beat the sunset. Therefore, I opted to not change into my yard clothes but instead stuff my work pants into my dress boots and get to mowing. I thought this surely couldn't take too long. So here I am mowing the yard back in forth in my dress clothes in the middle of November. I'm sure I looked a bit ridiculous (oh yeah, and I happened to step in dog poo - great, thanks Jane!)
Anyway, fast forward forty five minutes later after I have mowed the backyard about 7 times (I wasn't going out to the front looking like that) and the darn thing finally puttered to a stop. Where is the miracle in all of this you ask? I felt like the parables in the Bible where they just couldn't run out of oil or fish or bread. I opened the tank five times and never saw any gas in there, but it just wouldn't stop. Now why can't I have this miracle when I am needing to mow the grass because I got a letter from the city saying it was a foot tall (which it NEVER has been) and I don't have time to run and get gas and it is getting dark?!
Okay, I don't really think that God was toying with me or anything, but it was pretty frustrating. I guess instead of a watched pot never boils, it was a watched mower never quits. I hope that this fun little story put a smile on your face.
Oh yeah - quick side note, so I worry and I am afraid I tend to take things personally. As I was leaving work today, the head of our department (my boss's boss) was walking out with me. Normally he is friendly and talkative, but he was pretty distant and not kind tonight. Therefore, I assume he doesn't like me and that I did something wrong - oh why do I worry so much!
Have a happy Wednesday (or maybe I should start saying the next day because I think I will be posting in the evenings these days - blogging is becoming a distraction at work that I need to end)
Have a happy Thursday :) (1 week until Thanksgiving!)

Too funny!!
What a funny story! My nosespray for my allergies is REALLY expensive...like $140 with insurance...I was dreading having to spend the money on it and it was completely empty for about 4 weeks and somehow it managed to work twice a day! I really did think of it as a miracle! :)
I can just imagine you in your dress clothes mowing.. haha.. That is too funny!
Glad the Holiday plans are coming together! It's tough to balance! :)
Yeah for Thanksgiving!!!
I'm the same way because I take things too personally and am too sensitive!
